Adelaide International Classical Guitar Competition 2012
Attracting competitors from all over the world, the Adelaide International Classical Guitar Competition
is the most prestigious guitar competition in the southern hemisphere.
Held in conjunction with the Adelaide International Guitar Festival, the
competition provides a unique opportunity for emerging artists to gain
exposure and experience on an international stage through performing at a
world renowned festival, and will be adjudicated by a panel of
established players and teachers from around Australia as well as a
number of high profile international artists who will be performing at
the Adelaide International Guitar Festival in 2012.Applications open 02 January 2012

Annual Texas Guitar Competition and Festival
March 1 - 3, 2012UT Dallas Alexander Clark Center (formerly known as the Conference Center)
This unique Texas competition, designed to showcase outstanding classical guitar students, will award approximately $8,000 in cash prizes to the winners. Over the three-day event, students can compete and attend master classes and concerts by internationally recognized guitarists. We have a youth competition for ages 11-18 as well as the main competition for college-level students.
This year's guest artists will be Jeff Cogan and international artists Duo Melis.
International Concert Guitarist Competition Prizes:
First Place - $3000, Second Place - $2000, Third Place - $1000, Fourth place – $500

Division I (ages 11-14): First Place - $150, Second Place - $100, Third Place - $50

The international classical guitar community's premier event will be
held in historic Charleston, South Carolina. Our host will be the
College of Charleston Department of Music and liaison Marc Regnier. The
convention will be held at the Marion and Wayland H. Cato Jr. Center
for the Arts on the College of Charleston campus, and in the heart of
the city. Please plan to attend what is certain to be another great
